Terms of Service and Sale
These terms cover using fakedm.app for free and, once they open, buying the paid offers that remove the watermark and the end card. Nothing can be bought yet. They are written for consumers. Nothing here takes away the rights consumer law gives you.
1. Who we are
fakedm.app is published by Adrien Mornet, EI (entrepreneur individuel), SIREN 942 744 210. In these terms, "we" means this publisher and "you" means the person using the site. Contact: contact@fakedm.app. The full details are in the legal notice.
2. What fakedm.app is
fakedm.app is a mockup tool for Instagram-style conversations: a web app that makes screenshots and animated videos that look like Instagram direct messages (DMs). You write the messages, set a profile and download an image or a video, for example for a story or a reel. Images are PNG files. Videos are MP4 or WebM files.
Your projects and the images you add are saved by your browser for this site until you delete them or clear the site's data. Keep a project file of the videos you want to keep (My projects, Export file).
The images and videos are mockups. They are not real messages and do not come from Instagram or any other messaging app.
By using the site you accept these terms. Once paid offers open, you will accept them again at checkout when you buy, and the version you accepted then will apply to that purchase.
3. Acceptable use
A screenshot or a video that looks like a real conversation can mislead people. These rules apply to images and videos alike. You agree not to use fakedm.app to:
- impersonate a real person or a real brand without their consent, for example by using their name, handle, photo or logo;
- commit fraud or run scams, including fake giveaways, fake offers or phishing;
- make fake evidence, meaning an image or a video presented as a real conversation to deceive someone, for example in a dispute, to an employer, an insurer, a court, the press or a platform's moderators;
- harass, threaten, bully or defame anyone, or spread hate;
- create or share content that is illegal, including content that sexualises minors or infringes someone's copyright, trademark, image or privacy rights;
- remove, crop or hide the watermark of a free video;
- attack or overload the service, or get around payment to unlock paid features.
You are responsible for the content you create and for how and where you publish it, including the rules of the platforms you post on. When an image or a video could be taken for a real conversation, say clearly that it is a mockup.
If we learn that someone uses the service in breach of these rules, we may refuse service to that person and report illegal content to the authorities. Once paid offers open, we may also block their access to paid features or close their account. Where the breach is serious, this can happen without notice and without refund, within the limits of consumer law.
To report abuse, write to contact@fakedm.app with a link to the image or video and a short explanation. We read every report.
4. Free use
fakedm.app is free to use, with no sign-up and no limit on the number of downloads.
- Images: screenshots are free and have no watermark. Each image file carries a short note in its metadata (the PNG text fields "Software" and "Comment") saying that it is a mockup made with fakedm.app.
- Videos: free videos carry a visible "fakedm.app" watermark and end with a short "Made with fakedm.app" end card. The paid offers, once they open, remove both: every other feature is the same.
We may change or stop the free version. Images and videos you have already downloaded stay yours.
5. Paid offers and prices

3-video pack
€1.99 / $1.99, one-time payment
- 3 credits. One credit unlocks one conversation for export without watermark or end card.
- After unlocking, you can export that conversation again as often as you like and make small edits (for example fixing a typo, the timing, the format or the sounds). Turning it into a different conversation uses a new credit.
- Credits never expire.
Unlimited
€9 / $9 a month
- Every export is free of watermark and end card while the subscription is active.
- Renews automatically every month until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime from the billing portal in your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Prices are shown in euros and in US dollars. Checkout charges one of the two, depending on where you are, and the price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Prices include any tax that applies. TVA non applicable, article 293 B du CGI (VAT is not charged under the French micro-business scheme).
If we change the price of Unlimited, we tell subscribers by email at least 30 days before it applies to them. You can cancel before the new price starts. Price changes never affect packs you have already bought.
6. Payment and account

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. The payment methods available are shown at checkout. After payment you receive a confirmation email with your receipt.
You only need an account to buy, or to use what you bought on another device. You sign in with a link sent to your email address, with no password. Anyone with access to your mailbox can sign in, so keep it secure. Credits and subscriptions are personal: do not share or resell them.
You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to contact@fakedm.app. Unused credits are lost when the account is deleted, so ask for a refund first if you are still within the withdrawal period.
7. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason. For digital content supplied right away, the law lets this right end once supply starts, if you asked for immediate access and accepted losing the right (Code de la consommation, article L221-28, 13°).
3-video pack
At checkout, you ask for immediate access to your credits and expressly agree that you lose your right of withdrawal once you use a credit, because using a credit delivers the digital content (an export without watermark). The confirmation email repeats this agreement.
As long as no credit from the pack has been used, you can withdraw within 14 days of the purchase and get a full refund. Once a credit from the pack is used, the pack can no longer be withdrawn.
Unlimited
At checkout, you ask for the service to start right away. If you withdraw within 14 days of your first subscription payment, we refund that payment minus an amount in proportion to the days you had access (Code de la consommation, article L221-25). Monthly renewals are not new purchases and do not open a new withdrawal period.
How to withdraw
Send a clear statement to contact@fakedm.app from the email address you used to buy. You can use the model below, but you do not have to. We confirm receipt and refund you within 14 days, with the payment method you used.

8. Refunds
Not available yet: applies once paid offers open
In short: a pack is refunded in full within 14 days if none of its credits were used. A used credit is not refunded, unless the export does not work for you and we cannot fix it. Unlimited can be cancelled anytime, without refund for the current month except where the law requires one. The details and how to ask are on the refund policy page.
9. Legal guarantee of conformity
As a consumer, you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and digital services (Code de la consommation, articles L224-25-12 and following). If what you paid for does not work as described, tell us. We will fix it within a reasonable time and at no cost to you. If we cannot, you can get a price reduction or a refund.
The free version is the same app as the paid one, apart from the watermark and the end card. Try a free export before you buy.
10. Liability
We do our best to keep fakedm.app available and working. How well it works can depend on the phone or computer and the browser you use. Some older browsers are not supported.
We are liable to you, under French law, for damage caused by our failure to perform these terms. We are not liable for:
- the content you create, how you publish it, and claims from other people about it;
- projects lost when the browser data of this site is cleared or your phone or computer fails, unless you kept a project file;
- events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude, including your rights as a consumer and liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct or personal injury.
11. Intellectual property
You keep all rights to the content you create, and we claim no rights over it.
The site, its code, the fakedm.app name and logo, its design and its templates belong to us or to our licensors. The open source parts and their licenses are listed in the third-party licenses. You may use the templates in your own images and videos, including commercial ones. You may not resell or redistribute the templates themselves. The brands in the templates are fictional.
fakedm.app is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Instagram or Meta, or by any other messaging app. Instagram and Meta are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc. The name Instagram is only used to say which app the conversations look like. Other names and trademarks belong to their owners.
12. Changes
We may update these terms, for example when we add a feature, when paid offers open or when the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.

A purchase stays under the terms you accepted at checkout. For Unlimited, we tell you by email at least 30 days before an important change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
13. Disputes and mediation
If something goes wrong, write to us first at contact@fakedm.app. Most problems are solved quickly this way.
If we cannot agree, and after a written complaint to us, you can refer the dispute to our consumer mediator, free of charge: [[TO FILL: consumer mediator name and website]] (Code de la consommation, article L612-1).
The European Commission's online dispute resolution (ODR) platform closed on 20 July 2025, so we no longer link to it. For a dispute with a seller in another EU country, the European Consumer Centres network can help you for free.
14. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your country. You can bring a claim before the courts of the place where you live or before the French courts.
